Simple (But Powerful) Outdoors Navigation

GoodMaps Outdoors features include:

  • Four easy-to-access tabs: Routes, Location, POIs, and Settings.
  • Waypoints: record a route using breadcrumbs and save it for use in the future.
  • Lookaround Wand: discover what’s arround you.
  • More Info: provides details of altitude and speed.
  • POIs: create shortcuts to enable easier access.
  • Feedback: audio tones and vibrations available throughout the app.

It is better to travel hopefully than to arrive.

Rich Outdoor Wayfinding

GoodMaps Outdoors is a comprehensive navigation companion.

Unlike many navigation applications, Outdoors has everything you need accessible at all times (on every screen). So no more issues finding your routing preferences, nearby POIs, or simply your current location.

Other features include:

  • clear and concise announcements for intersections (inc. four-way clock-face orientation), street names, and direction of travel,
  • configurations for pedestrian and vehicular routing with heads-up information for approaching navigational prompts,
  • automatic route recalculations when a user wanders off route,
  • notification of nearby POIs and other helpful information,
  • multiple language options (with more to be incorporated),
  • 3D audio announcements (similar to Microsoft’s Soundscape suite) [currently iOS only]
